Lasallian Opportunities & Events

The Manhattan College office of mission hosts of number of events on campus throughout the year that examine various aspects of Lasallian heritage, and encourage the community to learn more about what it means to be Lasallian.

Lasallian Convocation

This event has been held each academic year since the fall of 1992. The purpose of the convocation is to bring together faculty, staff and administrative personnel to explore an aspect of the Lasallian tradition of the College. The convocation is generally held at the start of each academic year and serves as an opportunity for the College community to unite in association for the mission. The format usually consists of a talk or panel discussion followed by a dinner.

Lasallian Conversation

These evening conversations focus on what it means to the community to be Lasallian at Manhattan today. The event brings together many different groups from the campus community and have sparked a desire for a more tangible grasp of how the College’s unique heritage is manifested.

De La Salle Day

De La Salle Day celebrates the life, work and legacy of Saint John Baptist de La Salle, founder of the Christian Brothers and patron saint of educators. The day is celebrated each spring and features numerous events that focus on celebrating De La Salle and honoring him as our founder.
